What EDM Sinker Can Cut

Sinker EDM cuts hard and exotic materials that are difficult or impossible to machine conventionally. Materials include hardened steel, carbide, Inconel, Hastelloy, Titanium, and other conductive metals. The process can produce sharp inside

corners, deep small precision holes, and complex 3D cavity shapes — though shapes must not have undercuts or grooves.

Example applications include injection mold tooling, punch and die tooling, micro hole drilling, and scientific research apparatus.

JPT can provide almost any style of electrode required — including those needing 3-axis surface machining. Customers may also supply their own electrodes.
